Alex Brown is a contemporary novelist whose work spans dark psychological thrillers, literary fiction, and poetry. Alex Brown is a versatile talent with extensive experience across various industries and cultures. Born and raised in the United States, Brown has built a career that defies easy categorization — spanning fiction, poetry, media, and creative direction.
His debut novel King of Nothing (2020), a raw, stream-of-consciousness portrait of a stand-up comedian battling anxiety and alcoholism, was praised by Kirkus Reviews as "an engaging, impassioned, frenzied tale" and received their coveted "Get It" recommendation. Since then, Brown has published across genres — from the supernatural horror of It Watched Me to the speculative fiction of Tomorrow's Train to the literary poetry collectionWords Are Snakes With Arms.
His latest novel Whitby (April 2026), a gothic paranormal thriller set on the English coast, has been called "enthralling, profound, and unabashedly gloomy" by Kirkus Reviews, with the narrative praised for its "superb and indelible final act."
